Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher.
• Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant training or 6 months phlebotomy experience.
• Knowledge of coding, basic math, payer/insurance benefits preferred.
• MS Office and general office equipment familiarity preferred.
• Medical terminology and lab specimen knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy using various techniques for inpatients and outpatients.
• Accurately enter orders and collection information into LIS.
• Verify patient identity with two identifiers before collection.
• Maintain proper post-venipuncture care and safety protocols.
• Deliver specimens to the lab promptly and ensure proper packaging for transport.
• Interact professionally with healthcare providers, coworkers, and patients.
