Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Associate to support the patient care team with specimen collection, registration, processing and transport across multiple campuses. Responsibilities include order entry, packaging, labeling, and inventory control, as well as answering inquiries and relaying results to customers.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of approved phlebotomy program required.
• Completion of Phlebotomy Internship preferred.
• 1 Year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect, register, enter orders, process and transport specimens.
• Perform age-appropriate phlebotomy on neonatal to geriatric patients.
• Maintain specimen integrity and comply with quality control guidelines.
• Assume responsibility for supply ordering and inventory control.
• Serve as liaison between customers and the laboratory to answer inquiries and relay results.
• Clerical duties: process specimens, computer entry, and recordkeeping.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Phlebotomy program completed

Phlebotomy Internship completed

1 Year phlebotomy experience preferred
