Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Service Center Phlebotomist to perform specimen collections and deliver excellent customer service across multiple sites. You will act as the face and voice of the BILH Laboratories to patients, while maintaining accurate records and following established procedures.

The role requires phlebotomy skills, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or with a team. Travel to offices and clinics as needed is included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree welcomed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail with the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Comfortable working with minimal supervision and basic computer skills.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP or equivalent preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience and experience in lab Patient Service Centers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide phlebotomy and related services for all patients.
• Validate and update patient demographics and orders in the system.
• Collect specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods for all ages.
• Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Open, operate, and close the Patient Service Center daily; assist in training PSC staff.
• Travel to additional centers as needed and follow safety procedures.
• Read and comply with departmental policies; participate in QA programs.
