Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Chicago is seeking a Phlebotomist who provides expert venipuncture and specimen handling while delivering excellent patient service. You will collect blood samples, label specimens correctly, and ensure prompt processing in a fast-paced, patient-centered lab.

You will enter orders, verify results, and support a safe, efficient lab environment within a patient-first culture. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and strict adherence to ethics and safety

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization.
• One year of phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting or CMA certification.
• Experience with processing lab specimens and familiarity with lab workflows.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and other lab specimen collections per age related standards.
• Demonstrates AIDET model and patient safety to reduce errors.
• Receives and reviews physician orders; enters accurate lab orders in systems.
• Patient communication and post-phlebotomy care.
• Processes specimens promptly to maintain stability and integrity.
• Maintains equipment and follows QA/QC procedures.
• Adheres to safety and biohazard waste procedures.
