Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Chicago-area team. You will perform venipuncture and specimen processing, communicate clearly with patients, and work with a collaborative team to deliver accurate lab results with a patient-first approach.

The role requires phlebotomy certification and a high school diploma or equivalent, with experience in EMR systems preferred. This is an on-site position offering full-time hours and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification through a nationally recognized organization or CMA is preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collections per age-related standards.
• Demonstrates AIDET patient communication model and ensures patient safety.
• Receives and reviews physician orders and enters tests in the system.
• Maintains accurate labeling, processing, and transport of specimens.
• Keeps documentation and QC/QA records up to date.
