Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a phlebotomy technician to collect venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages at the patient service center, main hospital, and client sites, labeling specimens for analysis. You will provide patient and stakeholder service, assist in training phlebotomy staff, and participate in QA/QI activities while following established procedures.

Hours are Mon–Fri 6:30am–3pm with an every 4th Saturday rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Training in phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples for laboratory analysis from patients of all ages.
• Provides customer service to patients and stakeholders of the laboratory department.
• Assists in training phlebotomy students, nursing or laboratory personnel, as directed.
• Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
• Identifies problems related to work activities and participates in QA/QI efforts.
