Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages for laboratory analysis.
• Provides customer service to patients and stakeholders of the laboratory department.
• Assists in training phlebotomy students, nursing or laboratory personnel in phlebotomy procedures and handling of specimens.
• Demonstrates compliance with corporate, departmental and job-specific requirements.
• Identifies problems related to work activities and participates in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement efforts.
• Demonstrates proficiency with hospital/laboratory information systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
