Job summary

Family Health Care Centers of Greater Los Angeles, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Assistant / Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipuncture and collect specimens for laboratory testing.

You will verify patient identity using two identifiers and ensure proper labeling, processing, and transport of samples to the lab. The role requires phlebotomy certification, BLS, strong communication skills (English/Spanish), and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certification with the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, Inc. and/or the National Phlebotomy Association (NPA).
• Current BLS Certification, required to be kept up to date.
• Two years of phlebotomy experience, preferred.
• FQHC experience, highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel to FHCCGLA sites and attend off-site events.
• Bilingual English/Spanish, fluent in speaking/writing.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection following established protocols.
• Ensure patient identification using two identifiers before drawing blood.
• Label, process and transport specimens per SOPs.
• Enter data accurately in the E.H.R. and assist with billing data.
• Maintain safety, confidentiality, and cleanliness of the lab.
