Job summary

The University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital seeks a qualified Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, manage specimen labeling, and support clerical tasks in the Clinical and Anatomic Pathology areas.

Responsibilities include handling phone calls, ensuring accurate paperwork, following aseptic procedures, and maintaining patient care. California Phlebotomy Certification and BLS are required; high school diploma with 1 year lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum - High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred - two years of college with a biological sciences focus.
• Minimum one year of clinical lab or anatomic pathology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture using standard techniques and collect specimens.
• Screen, handle and transfer calls and assist hospital staff as needed.
• Label specimens accurately and ensure proper paperwork for lab tests.
• Follow asepsis/antisepsis procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Assist in clerical tasks and stock supplies in the lab.
• Contribute to patient care by accurate specimen processing and reporting.
