Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Phlebotomist to collect specimens and assist CLS staff, ensuring accurate testing and timely processing. The role includes clerical duties and maintaining LIS data entry.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma, at least 6 months of blood collection experience (3 years preferred), and BLS; LIS and computer proficiency is required. This position reports to the Phlebotomy Lead and Lab Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months' experience in blood specimen collection; 3 years preferred.
• CA Certified Phlebotomy Technician License preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from inpatients using venipuncture or skin puncture.
• Restock phlebotomy supplies for all shifts and maintain LIS data entry.
• Deliver specimens to the lab and communicate with staff and physicians.
• Maintain a clean, organized workplace and follow safety guidelines.
