Job summary

Mercy Health West Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. You will draw blood, prepare specimens for testing, and complete clerical duties to keep the department efficient. Responsibilities include accurate patient identification, sample labeling, data entry, and handling phone inquiries with a friendly, professional approach.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match to service.
• Label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as requested by test orders.
• Handle clerical duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
