Job summary

Mercy Health's Jewish Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department. The role involves drawing blood, preparing specimens for testing, and completing clerical tasks to maintain departmental efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a high school degree, and while not required, a Phlebotomist certification and 1 year of phlebotomy experience are preferred. Travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Perform order entry, result look-up, report generation, and answer calls in a friendly manner.
• Identify patients accurately and ensure correct service alignment for safety.
• Handle clerical duties: data entry, labeling, centrifuging, and transportation of specimens.
