Job summary

Bon Secours is seeking a Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for the Southside Medical Center in a PRN capacity. The Phlebotomist will draw blood, prepare specimens for testing, and complete clerical duties to help the Laboratory Department run smoothly.

Responsibilities include order entry, result look-up, report generation, and answering calls in a courteous, efficient manner while ensuring patient safety and accurate data handling.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience or customer service in a service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Enter orders, look up results, generate reports and answer calls in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with the correct service for patient safety.
• Perform clerical duties: inventory checks, stock supplies, and answer phones as needed.
• Travel to off-site locations as required.
