Job summary

The Laboratory Department at Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Southside Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our growing team as a PRN staff member. You will draw blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and perform clerical duties to keep the lab running smoothly.

Minimum education is a High School Degree or GED; Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required. One year of phlebotomy or customer service experience is a plus. Travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and community.
• Collects specimens following established procedures.
• Identifies patients and matches identity to service for safety.
• Performs data entry and processing of specimens.
• Handles departmental clerical duties such as inventory and phones.
