Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health's Lab Department at Rappahannock General Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join a growing team. You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and handle clerical duties to keep the department efficient.

Responsibilities include patient interaction, data entry, and ensuring accurate identification. Travel to off-site locations may be required; an HS diploma or GED is required and phlebotomy certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide courteous customer service.
• Collect specimens according to procedures.
• Verify patient identity and service match for safety.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as ordered.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and phone coverage.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
