Job summary

Mercy Health – The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. The Phlebotomist will draw blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and handle clerical tasks to keep the department efficient.

Required education is a High School Degree or GED; phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required. One year of phlebotomy experience and customer service in a retail or service setting are recommended but not mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community.
• Collects all specimens according to established procedures and ensures proper processing.
• Identifies patients accurately and matches identity with the correct service for patient safety.
• Responsible for data entry and processing of specimens per test orders.
• Performs clerical duties such as inventory checks, stock supplies, and answering phones.
• Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
