Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory team. The Phlebotomist draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for testing and handles related clerical duties to maintain efficient workflow.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED; Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required, with 1 year of phlebotomy experience and customer service background being beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community.
• Collect and process blood specimens accurately and efficiently.
• Identify patients and match them to the correct service for safety.
• Enter data and process specimens per test orders (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing).
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks, stock management and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
