Job summary

Mercy Health Laboratory Department in Lima is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our growing team. The Phlebotomist draws blood, prepares specimens for lab testing, and completes clerical duties to maintain department efficiency, including order entry, result look-up, and report generation.

Education includes a High School Degree or GED; Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required. One year of phlebotomy experience and customer service in a retail or service environment are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Excellent customer service in a healthcare setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with respect and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with service for safety.
• Data entry and processing of specimens including labeling, centrifuging, and splitting as ordered.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot issues promptly and perform other duties as assigned.
