Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for University Hospital. The role supports phlebotomy, specimen processing, and related lab duties with on-call and holiday coverage. A strong emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and patient care is required.

Minimum education is a high school diploma; ASCP PBT certification or completion of a clinical lab program is preferred. Training may be provided at apprenticeship level for those new to the field.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP PBT or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a CLIA/clinical lab assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory for departmental functions.
• Observe students/new staff as needed.
• Excellent telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Perform clerical tasks and document communications as needed.
• Support coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends.
