Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in PRMC Hospital Lab is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist. This hourly, full-time role requires working Monday-Friday 0830-1730 with weekends and on-call shifts as needed. Candidates must perform phlebotomy and support departmental operations.

The position offers apprenticeship opportunities for those with limited experience and potential for advancement through modality levels. Immunization, a valid driver's license, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

H.S. diploma or equivalent.
PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
Maintains supplies and inventory to perform departmental functions.
Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
Exhibit basic problem solving skills to ensure customer and patient care.
Responsible for hospital communication responsibilities including on-call duties by location.
Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
Maintain confidentiality of information and handle on-call coverage as required.
Perform clerical functions and document critical communications when needed.
Participate in training and competency assessments of modalities.
