Job summary

Actalent is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join a medium-sized patient service center in Lebanon, KY. You will collect blood and other specimens from patients of all ages while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include drawing blood, collecting additional specimens, verifying orders, processing samples, maintaining records, and ensuring safety guidelines are followed. This contract role offers onsite work with a small team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months phlebotomy experience in a hospital, laboratory, or high-volume setting.
• Strong venipuncture skills and experience with blood collection procedures.
• Phlebotomy certification if required by your state.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect additional specimens such as urine and fecal samples when needed.
• Verify patient information and physician orders.
• Label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and prepare specimens for shipment.
• Ensure specimens are stored and transported according to procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Explain collection procedures clearly and compassionately to patients.
• Follow OSHA, safety, and compliance guidelines.
• Assist with daily laboratory operations and trainings.
