Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient service center in Lexington, KY. You will collect blood and specimens across pediatric to geriatric populations, delivering professional customer service in a medium-sized PSC with a 60-80 patient daily volume.

Responsibilities include labeling, processing, and shipping specimens, verifying orders, and maintaining records while following OSHA and safety guidelines. This is an onsite contract role with comprehensive onboarding and training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6+ months phlebotomy experience in hospital, lab, or high-volume setting.
• Strong venipuncture skills and blood collection experience.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Phlebotomy certification if required by state.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect additional specimens (urine, stool) when needed.
• Verify patient information and physician orders.
• Label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and prepare specimens for shipment.
• Ensure specimens stored and transported per procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Answer patient questions and explain procedures professionally.
• Follow OSHA, safety, and compliance guidelines.
• Assist with daily laboratory operations and trainings.
