Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated seeks a Phlebotomist I in Kentwood, MI. The role supports specimen collection, processing, and data entry in a fast-paced clinical environment. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, with rotational weekend shifts.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred medical training and phlebotomy certification. Prior phlebotomy and customer service experience are beneficial for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify orders using lab systems and client contacts.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, following policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
