Octapharma Plasma, with centers across the U.S., is hiring for a plasma collection technician. You will perform donor venipuncture and plasma collection, operate plasmapheresis machines, and ensure safety and quality while delivering excellent donor service.

Requirements include a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and 3+ months in healthcare. Benefits include training, health plans, HSA/FSA, tuition reimbursement, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• State certifications per requirements as needed.
• At least 3 months in medical/healthcare setting preferred.
• Proof of training completed before duties performed independently.
• Strong customer service skills required.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocol.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Ability to document accurately and completely.
• Ability to read and interpret safety/operating docs.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility with shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation complies with state/federal regs and SOPs.
• Maintain high donor service quality and a positive experience.
• Keep the work area clean and professional.
• Verify donor ID and protect confidentiality per SOPs.
• Set up equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis.
• Label units and samples accurately.
• Perform venipuncture and plasma collection safely.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines and respond to alarms.
• Monitor donor condition for safety and product quality.
• Maintain proper donation-to-product ratios for safety.
• Dispose biohazardous waste and clean equipment.
• Calibrate/maintain machines daily, weekly, monthly.
• Report unsafe conditions to management.
• Restock plasma carts and manage supplies.
• Support training efficiency and compliance.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform QC checks.
