Day Kimball Health is hiring a Phlebotomist for the Lab Department on a full-time 1st shift in Connecticut. The role involves drawing blood, specimen handling, and assisting with testing workflows in a patient-centered lab setting.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation and certification from approved phlebotomy program or certifying agency preferred.
• 5 years hospital lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens from patients of varying ages using venipuncture or micro-puncture techniques.
• Identify patients accurately using current procedures and policies.
• Register and order tests as needed.
• Review requisitions, select appropriate tubes, generate accurate labels, and account for tourniquet at end of procedure.
• Instruct patients on urine collection when required and collect throat cultures.
• Instruct/train ED staff, UR/PCTs in phlebotomy tasks.
