Job summary

Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Phlebotomist for our Physician Blood Draw Department. You will obtain blood specimens, process laboratory samples, and provide patient information to caregivers while registering patients.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a phlebotomy program, and at least one year of phlebotomy experience; national certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy program.
• Minimum of 1 year phlebotomy experience in ambulatory/acute care.
• National Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens and perform venipuncture.
• Label specimens according to policy.
• Process laboratory/microbiology specimens.
• Register patients in the system.
• Cover physician blood draw locations as needed.
