Advocate Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for the 1st shift in Burlington, WI. You will verify patient identity, collect specimens, and ensure proper labeling for testing across all age groups.

You will perform limited CLIA-compliant testing, assist with inventory and billing support, and enter results in the computer system. The role requires strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated customer service skills with physicians, patients, and staff.

Responsabilités

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure patient safety.
• Performs Venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing; resolves ID/requisition issues.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines per policy.
• Answers and screens telephone calls; assists with inventory and billing support.
• Processes specimens for testing, including aliquoting and pre-analytical steps.
• Orders and verifies test requests; documents information for QA; runs QC checks.
• Enters laboratory results in the computer system.
• Trains employees and students in phlebotomy and processing functions.
• Provides care aligned with age-specific needs and department policies.
