Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for the 2nd shift in Illinois. You will verify patient identity, perform venipuncture, collect specimens, and ensure proper labeling and testing readiness. You’ll also assist with basic testing under CLIA and support related administrative tasks.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1 year of phlebotomy experience, with strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Verifies positive patient identification to ensure patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn to adult patients.
• Ensures specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing.
• Performs limited testing under CLIA guidelines.
• Answers calls and supports billing and other business functions.
