Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician to join our Wisconsin lab team. You will verify patient identity, collect specimens by venipuncture, and ensure correct labeling and testing readiness in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires basic computer and keyboarding skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work a schedule including Wednesdays and Thursdays with additional Friday morning shifts. Training and career development are available.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in phlebotomy or related laboratory function.
• Basic computer skills including experience using computer software applications.
• Keyboarding and typing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification and ensure patient safety.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens from pediatric to adult patients.
• Label specimens correctly and ensure they are suitable for testing.
• Order and verify test requests and document information for QA.
• Assist with inventory and support billing and other functions.
• Respond to specimen procurement requests and prepare specimens for transport.
• Provide instruction to staff and students in phlebotomy and specimen processing.
