The Phlebotomist III Float represents the face of our company to patients who come to Quest Diagnostics, whether as part of their health routine or for important health insights.
This role involves drawing quality blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for lab testing, and following established procedures. The Phlebotomist III Float has direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately.
The position requires providing coverage across multiple locations and roles, ensuring daily activities in various settings such as Patient Service Centers, mobile units, long-term care, and in-office phlebotomy are completed accurately and timely.
The role demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Successful candidates may work in doctors' offices, patient service centers, house call environments, or as dictated by business needs.
Responsibilities include stepping in for other Phlebotomist IIIs, leading on-site staff, coaching, mentoring, training new employees, and providing onboarding for new clients. The role also involves acting as a point of contact for on-site staff and providing input to supervisors.
The Phlebotomist III Float may work with high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy skills and strong customer-facing abilities, including communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with various departments such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
The candidate must handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
