Job Description:
- The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of our company to patients who visit Quest Diagnostics, whether as part of their health routine or for critical health insights. The role involves drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- This position requires direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and drawing blood in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
- The Phlebotomist III - Float provides coverage at multiple locations and roles, ensuring daily activities at Patient Service Centers, Mobile units, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and timely.
- The role demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Applicants may be assigned to work in various settings, including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, house calls, long-term care, or as needed by the business.
- Must be capable of stepping in for a Phlebotomist III - Float and leading on-site staff, including coaching, mentoring, and onboarding new employees and clients.
- The role involves working with high-complexity or high-volume practices, requiring excellent phlebotomy skills and strong customer-facing communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills across various functions such as Sales, Laboratory Testing, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
- The candidate must handle multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume environment.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- Minimum five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- At least three years in a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry experience required.
