Job summary

Genie Matthews and Associates in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling and transport, and patient communication across pediatric to geriatric populations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and venipuncture following protocol.
• Label, centrifuge, and handle specimens; document maintenance data.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Package specimens for transport and store per temperature requirements.
• Ensure specimens match requisitions and maintain specimen integrity.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations; participate in trainings.
