Job summary

American Red Cross in Rockville, Maryland seeks donors-focused team members for phlebotomy support at fixed site locations. Paid phlebotomy training is provided; prior medical experience not required. You will help collect lifesaving blood donations while ensuring safety and comfort for volunteer donors.

Qualifications

• Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience is required.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting is required.
• A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours; adaptability to irregular schedules.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of their donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Ensure that blood collection meets goals, regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
