Job summary

The American Red Cross in Jefferson City, Missouri is seeking a Phlebotomist to support the blood collection process at our fixed site. You will help create a welcoming, safe environment for volunteer donors and ensure donations meet safety standards.

We offer paid phlebotomy training with no prior medical experience required; phlebotomy experience is preferred. The role provides a fixed schedule (4x10 hour shifts with weekends) and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree OR a combination of education and work experience is required.
• Minimum of one year customer service experience in public setting is required.
• A current, valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include lifting, pushing or pulling heavy weights and long hours; ability to adapt to schedule changes.
• Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take time to connect with donors and explain the impact of donations.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Be detail oriented to ensure collected blood meets goals, regulatory requirements and is safely transfused.
