Hire Consulting Services in Austin, TX seeks a phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanency. The role requires pediatric venipuncture experience, careful specimen handling, and strong communication with patients and physicians.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and proper specimen transport, while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrates technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understands physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required by test order.
• Packages specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at required temperatures and ensures transport integrity.
• Understands and complies with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attends annual department trainings.
• Answers telephone calls and reads laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
