Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a phlebotomist to support pediatric-focused blood collection in Reston, VA. The role entails drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining accurate patient data in a fast-paced lab.

You will follow OSHA/DEP guidelines, perform routine quality checks, and assist with department trainings. This contract position offers benefits and potential for permanent placement after 3 months.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and venipuncture; label and process specimens.
• Document maintenance data and decontamination; ensure patient information accuracy.
• Explain procedures clearly and courteously; match requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Package and transport specimens; store samples per protocol; ensure transport integrity.
