Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to perform blood draws, label and process specimens, and ensure proper storage and handling. The role requires experience with venipunctures and adherence to safety and regulatory standards in a fast-paced setting.

The position is located in Reston, VA, with a schedule including weekdays and alternating Saturdays. Benefits are available, and there is potential for permanent placement after the initial contract period.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to procedures; explain venipuncture process clearly.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Ensure accuracy of test requisitions and transport specimens under required conditions.
