Responsibilities include labeling, centrifuging, maintaining records, ensuring accuracy with test orders, and complying with OSHA/DEP regulations. Experience in a hospital or lab setting is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store them per protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer inquiries by reading laboratory results.
