Joseph Michaels International in Shelby, NC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with an approximate duration of 3 months.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling specimens, maintaining records, and ensuring proper specimen transport while adhering to OSHA regulations. Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience and a valid phlebotomy certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED; minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures; explains venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and butterfly needles.
• Match requisitions to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions or computer label against script for 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol and temperature requirements.
