Job summary

The Recruiting Hive in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment with potential to become permanent. The role requires performing blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to procedures. You will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

A valid state phlebotomy certification and minimum one year of relevant experience are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to protocol; ensure specimen integrity and OSHA compliance.
