Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens per procedure.
• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data and decontamination.
• Update patient information and match requisitions to specimens.
• Explain venipuncture procedure to patients in a courteous manner.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
