Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting seeks a Phlebotomist in Anchorage for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. The ideal candidate will perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, and maintain accurate records.

The position requires a valid phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience. The role supports labeling, specimen transport, and interaction with lab staff, with schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination and updating patient information as required.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label accordingly.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperature.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
