Job summary

The float position runs Monday to Thursday 8:00am–5:30pm and Friday 8:00am–1:00pm, with an initial duration of 3 months and possible extension. The role requires performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining accurate records while following OSHA/DEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Centrifuge and process specimens per procedures.
• Record maintenance data and monitor equipment cleanliness.
• Update patient information and track specimens according to protocol.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Ensure specimens are packaged and transported correctly.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and participate in trainings.
