Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. has a contract Phlebotomist position (ID 6211) open for a float role covering Montgomery County, MD. Shifts are 1st shift, Mon–Fri, 7am–4pm or 8am–5pm, with EOS 8am–12pm. Projected duration is 3 months with potential permanent placement.

The role requires phlebotomy certification, venipuncture experience, and proficiency with MS Office. Benefits are available to eligible staff.

Qualifications

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
2 years of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer inquiries and communicate results as needed.
