Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Farmville, VA is seeking a qualified phlebotomist for a contract role with potential to become permanent.

You will perform blood draws, label and centrifuge specimens, maintain records, explain the venipuncture process, and ensure proper transport under OSHA guidelines.

Requires valid phlebotomy certification, at least 2 years of experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate techniques with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport; store samples according to required temperatures and protocols.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings; answer inquiries and report results.
