Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position with potential for permanent placement in Colonial Heights, VA. The role runs 7:45am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with benefits available.

Candidates should have phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, updating patient information and complying with OSHA/DEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination and updating patient information.
• Match requisition forms to tubes and ensure correct labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and store per procedures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and communicate results as needed.
