6 Degrees Search is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Farmville, VA. The role involves drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced lab setting.

You will perform venipuncture, handle specimens per protocol, and ensure compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations. Experience with pediatric draws and straight-stick needles is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required in state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture work experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
• Explain venipuncture procedure clearly to patients.
• Package and transport specimens according to protocol.
• Ensure correct labeling and test requisitions matching.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer inquiries and document results.
