Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a phlebotomist for a contract role in Farmville, VA. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with an initial duration of about 3 months and potential permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, labeling, and specimen handling, with OSHA/DEP compliance and annual trainings. Requires phlebotomy certification and 2+ years of experience in a lab or hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required in many states.
• 6 months+ venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens.
• Centrifuge specimens and maintain data.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and relay results as needed.
