Job summary

Top Echelon Software LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood draws, label specimens, and manage specimen processing in a clinical lab setting in Trinity, FL. The role is contract with potential for permanent placement, scheduled weekdays with some Saturday rotation.

Candidates should have a phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by state.
• 6+ months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders.
• Match requisitions to tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check requisitions or labels against scripts for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens per temperature and OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and relay lab results as needed.
