Responsibilities include collecting and storing specimens, explaining the venipuncture process to patients, and ensuring proper packaging and transport of samples. Minimum 2 years of experience and relevant phlebotomy certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label appropriately.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage conditions.
